What do you eat?

Some people eat everything. Some people do not eat everything. They will not eat some types of food because of what they believe, or because of their religion. Who are these people?

Belief reasons. A teetotaller does not drink any alcohol. A vegan eats only food from plants. A vegetarian eats food from plants, but also eggs, as well as cheese, yoghurt and milk products.

Religious reasons. A Buddhist does not kill anything to eat. A Hindu does not eat beef or pork. A Jew does not eat pork or shellfish. Also, Jewish people do not mix milk products and meat. They eat kosher food. A Muslim does not eat pork, or drink alcohol. They eat halal food.

Is it difficult to eat like this? No, not in New Zealand. There is fresh healthy food for all these people in New Zealand shops. All food has a label, to tell the buyer what is in the food.

"I eat everything with four legs, unless it's a table."
